Leicester City and Leeds United suffered relegation from the Premier League on the final day of the season, while Everton managed to secure their 69-year stay in England's top-flight by defeating Bournemouth 1-0.

Everton fans breathed a sigh of relief as Abdoulaye Doucoure, the French midfielder, scored a decisive goal from outside the box at the 57th minute, leading to jubilant celebrations at Goodison Park in Liverpool.

Leeds United's return to the Championship was confirmed with a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. After three seasons in the Premier League, Leeds failed to secure their place in the top division.

In contrast, Leicester City, despite a 2-1 victory over West Ham United, faced relegation just seven years after their remarkable title triumph. Despite their best efforts, it was not enough to avoid the drop.

Everton, on the other hand, controlled their destiny from the beginning of the day but faced a tense battle against Bournemouth. Their struggles in scoring goals were evident, and they sorely missed their key striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Even when they managed to break through Bournemouth's defense, the outstanding performance of goalkeeper Mark Travers denied Everton the chance to take an early lead.

Bournemouth, who secured their survival weeks ago, proved to be formidable opponents and made life difficult for Everton. Both teams had opportunities to score, with near misses from Marcos Senesi and Dominic Solanke.

In the second half, Travers continued to impress with his saves, denying Demarai Gray an early goal. However, the relief for Everton came when Doucoure finally found the back of the net with a well-executed strike.

Despite securing the victory, Everton had an anxious half-hour to endure, and Jordan Pickford's fine save during added time prevented Matias Vina from equalizing.

Leicester City, although they managed to win their final game, fell short of staying in the Premier League. Their talented squad failed to meet expectations throughout the season, resulting in their relegation. In their last match, Harvey Barnes scored the opening goal after an exchange with Kelechi Iheanacho, showcasing Leicester's attacking prowess. Wout Faes added a second goal, but it was all in vain as Everton maintained their lead.

Leeds United, requiring favorable results elsewhere, had a disappointing performance against Tottenham Hotspur. Harry Kane scored an early goal, and despite Jack Harrison's goal for Leeds, Pedro Porro and Kane secured a comfortable victory for Spurs. Lucas Moura's goal in his final appearance for Tottenham sealed the 4-1 win.

While the season finale saw various exciting matches, it was not enough for Tottenham to secure a spot in the Europa Conference League, as Aston Villa's 2-1 victory over Brighton sealed seventh place.

Manchester United finished third with a 2-1 win over Fulham, surpassing Newcastle United in the final standings.

One of the most thrilling games of the day ended in a 4-4 draw between Southampton and Liverpool.
